Using 3D Modeling to Recreate Artifacts

Recently, I switched from working in a health system back to the banking industry. That left me with few opportunities to use any 3D modeling on my job as an eLearning designer. Fortunately, as a former archaeologist, who volunteers on excavations when time allows, I found a great avenue for using my 3D modeling and Blender skills.

Below is a reconstruction of a hafted grooved axe. The artifact photogrammetry is provided by Lost Towns Project. I developed the haft and superimposed it on the artifact using Blender.

As I develop more, I will post share them here. I am also developing an Algonquin Woodland village. That is a work in progress and will post that soon, as well.

We will end with tips on how to add your 3D models into your courses, where your learners will be thrilled to interact them. Expert level technology acumen not required!

3D Modeling Demo Reel

I just completed a 3D Modeling class and thought I would share my demo reel.
