Once you know it, you can break the rules when you have a good reason to do so, add your creativity and think wildly about eLearning. It doesn't have to constrain you!
Best,
ConnieConnie Malamedhttp://theelearningcoach.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5872191505091733640.post-6618849338391527612009-10-29T03:49:43.000-07:002009-10-29T03:49:43.000-07:00Thank you for the comment. "...add your creat...Thank you for the comment. "...add your creativity and think wildly about eLearning." I absolutely agree! Once you have a solid design, creativity is especially important to keep learners' attention and to increase learner motivation. For me, I like to use humor (with care not to offend) and sometimes it is often a bit silly, but you can bet learners remember it.

JeffJeffnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5872191505091733640.post-25909264895298494072010-05-27T10:14:53.000-07:002010-05-27T10:14:53.000-07:00[...] Hey You Rapid e-Learning Peeps, Slooow Down ...[...] Hey You Rapid e-Learning Peeps, Slooow Down & Take a Little Drive on ISD Side of Town [...]Top 25 Rapid eLearning Blog Posts | Upside Learning Bloghttp://www.upsidelearning.com/blog/index.php/2010/04/21/top-25-rapid-elearning-blog-posts/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5872191505091733640.post-58158478667237426262010-07-09T10:44:03.000-07:002010-07-09T10:44:03.000-07:00Thanks for raising the point here. Instruction design is a time consuming, non-linear task. Beauty may appear later, starting is important. I am all for rapid style (see, agile course development methodology, for more details).

Regards,

Diipak Gupta,
Chief eLearning evangelist,
BigGyan Cloud eLearningDiipak Guptahttp://WWW.BIGGYAN.COMnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5872191505091733640.post-18612557622971365782010-07-09T15:23:52.000-07:002010-07-09T15:23:52.000-07:00Diipak,Thanks for the comments. I can only respond that it is difficult to prepare great instruction, but that is why anyone making attempts in e-learning needs to first have a solid foundation in instructional design. This does not mean one must have a degree, but at least tap into the endless resources on ISD that are available on the web, books, etc.

Thanks,

JeffJeffhttp://www.minutebio.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5872191505091733640.post-14111346089068469562012-01-26T12:22:53.000-08:002012-01-26T12:22:53.000-08:00[...] optimizing e-learning.
